The third step to properly resolve a conflict is to seek a solution. This is done by your employees. Your role in this part of the process is to ask solution focused questions and keep your employees focused on the reason for the discussion.
Remember, it is up to the employees to decide on a solution that is fair and equitable to them both. You are NOT the solution provider – you are helping THEM find and agree to a solution. Ultimately, your objective is to make sure that both parties agree to the solution they have conceived together, and any action plans or changes in behavior that they have committed to as a part of the solution.
